Will Sandy be Obama's greatest strength?

As we all know, politicians can't really ever be anything other than politicians.

So does it come as a surprise that Obama, with just a week out of the big event (election time), has cancelled all his rally's and visits to key states, so he can be with the people, emergency services and those affected by Hurricane Sandy?

Will this in fact be a great political move and help him secure another term?
