Will Sandy be Obama's greatest strength?

As we all know, politicians can't really ever be anything other than politicians.

So does it come as a surprise that Obama, with just a week out of the big event (election time), has cancelled all his rally's and visits to key states, so he can be with the people, emergency services and those affected by Hurricane Sandy?

Will this in fact be a great political move and help him secure another term?

Social media and politics - can it be combined?

We stumbled upon this and wanted to share it.

Although this article looks at the socialmediasphere within American politics, does 'twittering', 'liking' and 'following' have similar influence here in Britain to help those in power gain the people's vote and support?

Does social media influence British politics to the same degree? http://mashable.com/2012/10/02/social-media-and-local-politics/

Headline Thursday 27th September 2012

POLITICS: Just like when singers should really stick to singing, and not acting, this is a fine example of why politicians and PMs should just run the country and not undertake improvised chat on telly http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/pm-suffers-humour-and-history-failure-in-letterman-ordeal-8181011.html

EUROZONE CRISIS: Sorry to be stereotypical, but are we going to be paying more for our prawn paella then? http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/spain-to-unveil-more-savage-cuts-8181150.html

CRIME & JUSTICE: About time - do you agree? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-order/9569359/Expect-to-be-shot-if-you-burgle-gun-owners-judge-warns-criminals.html
